This October, the Saenger Theatre will host the comeback of the most widely known musical in New Orleans, Wicked.
If you’re yet to get a taste of this awesome play, don’t miss out now.
Personally, I’ve watched the play thrice and was thrilled each time. Allow me to help your imagination; picture the 1939 movie loved by everyone - The Land of Oz. Think about the scenes where Dorothy gets the company of the tinman, the scarecrow and the cowardly lion on their quest to seek the great Wizard of Oz.
This musical uniquely provides an answer to the question of what was ongoing before the arrival of Dorothy.
Wicked tells the story of the good with, Glinda and the wicked witch of the west, Elphaba who was green while growing up.
Glinda, the happy blonde known by everyone meets Elphaba and the competition between them morphed to the strangest friendship. This was just before one was branded good and the other, wicked.
Wicked has received praises from the New York Times as an outstanding musical in the entire decade garnering a high score with such terms as popular, against the odds and noble. Times Magazine also described it as a Broadway musical with such magic, intelligence, courage and passion.
On Friday, 19th of July, 2019, ticket sales begin at 10am for the comeback show.
